Capelin was founded in 2014, rooted in the snowboard culture of the Yin Mountains and Yan Mountains of
Northern China. Growing up at the meeting point of two of China's great ranges — and just 300 kilometres from
Zhangjiakou, the city that hosted the 2022 Winter Olympics — the founding spirit of the brand was shaped by
real winters, real terrain, and a genuine love for the mountain.
From the beginning, Capelin set out to build gear that reflected that culture: sharp, distinctive, and built to
perform. Not gear that blends in. Not another round of safe colorways and forgettable silhouettes. Something
that looked as alive on the slope as the riding itself.
We design performance-driven apparel for snowboarding, skiing, and outdoor adventure — waterproof, breathable, built to last. And actually worth looking at. Capelin carries the visual energy of snowboard culture
into every design: bold palettes, sharp silhouettes, colorways that go somewhere. Technical and distinctive are
not opposites.
